     Linda Petchnick has worked as a product designer, muralist, and watercolorist. She has a BFA in Industrial Design from the University of Washington in Seattle.  She has painted 10 historical municipal and private murals.  Linda recently finished  painting 50 of the more than 1,000 orchids from the teaching collection of the University of Washington's Dept. of Biology. In August of 2008, she exhibited these paintings at Suzzallo Library at the University of Washington  and in 2007 Delray Beach, Florida.  Her paintings have been published in numerous orchid books authored by world renowned orchid taxonomist, Dr. Guido Braem.  Her painting, "Angraecum sesquipedale" was recently published in a book about Charles Darwin, a German Pharmaceutical journal, "Deutsche Apotheker Zeitung" and an Italian garden magazine, "Gardenia" This painting was exhibited in England and at the Houston Museum of Science in Texas where it became part of a 2 year traveling exhibit across the United States.

The next scheduled exhibit of her work will be at the United States Botanic Garden next to the Capitol in DC.  They are having an orchid show along with paintings by Linda.
Linda is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, the Northwest Orchid Society in Seattle and the Tacoma Orchid Society.  She lives and works in Enumclaw, Washington .
